The Grocer's Elf

A boy went to a Grocer's shop to buy candles and bread. Since he did not have enough money, he bought candles. The Grocer wrapped the candles in a page. The boy saw a poetry on the page. So, he asked for the book from where the Grocer tore the page. The Grocer asked for money for the book. So, the young boy returned the candles and happily went away with the poetry Book. A little elf who was watching this, followed the boy to his house. The elf looked through the keyhole and saw the boy reading the book. He saw the bright light coming out from the book. It was like a huge tree of life which spread its branches over the boy. Every flower on the tree was a smiling face of a young maiden and every fruit was a star. The elf thought this to be so enchanting. He realized that knowledge is like a lighthouse that gives off and spreads it's light in all direction for the good of others. This is why the young boy had given off buying bread and candles. Instead, opted for the Book.

Moral: Knowledge is Wealth.
